OSTİMTECH Education Model is a competency-based third generation, entrepreneurial and innovative university model where theoretical knowledge, experience, learning and entrepreneurship are prioritized and focused on producing original projects and solutions. Having a university culture based on skills, knowledge, behavior and competence, OSTİM Technical University reflects the higher education model based on research, innovation, social benefit and development. It supports this model with course curricula based on learning through experience, where theoretical knowledge is built with a multifaceted practical approach. For this purpose, the research carried out during the establishment period and the local and international research of our founding team and board of trustees; Based on academic and sectoral experiences, many differences have been created in the OSTİMTECH Education Model:

Applied Education Model

OSTİM Technical University was established in the business and financial center that has made remarkable contributions to the industrialization of Turkey. In order to benefit from this knowledge, importance is given to practical training as well as theoretical knowledge. Starting from the first year, students will receive practical training in various units of businesses, one course per semester in the first year, in order to gain observation, application, innovation and management skills in the business environment.

Entrepreneurship Report Card

Essentially, the entrepreneurship report card, which aims to provide OSTİM Technical University students with entrepreneurial mentality, equipment and skills, is a tracking procedure that allows the performance of each student within the university to be evaluated according to certain predetermined or subsequently accepted entrepreneurial actions and to be rewarded if a certain stage is passed. Our students who achieve a certain score in the entrepreneurship report card will be given support and awards such as start-up capital support, job opportunities in OSTİM Technopark, finding and liaising with business partners, and internship opportunities abroad for the design, product, service or project they have designed.

Distinctive Courses

Our department’s curriculum includes a range of distinctive courses designed to help students adapt smoothly to university life and support their personal and academic development. Courses such as Introduction to University Life and Entrepreneurship Project aim to foster intellectual curiosity, cultural sensitivity, and a sense of responsibility, while encouraging students to become active and engaged individuals. These courses also cultivate entrepreneurial skills such as innovation, implementation, commercialization, and business formation, equipping students with the competencies needed for a successful future.

Today, developments in the fields of artificial intelligence technologies and digitalization have affected all business systems and thus led to the implementation of new forms of management and organization. Our country and the businesses operating in our country need leading managers who have these new perspectives, who are aware of the innovations that artificial intelligence and digitalization will bring to the business world, who can keep up with change, who can communicate effectively, who are people-oriented, who can bring effective solutions to problems by investing in individual-business and country talents at the same time, who can conduct scientific research and produce theoretical thinking, and who can make the right decisions, in order to integrate with the world in the information age we are in, to design and implement sustainable business forms. Our students graduating from the Department of Business Administration; By combining technological infrastructure with a professional management perspective, it is aimed to become managerial candidates with an understanding focused on producing and developing high value-added products in the sector.

In the Department of Business Administration, which aims to educate students in various fields such as management, production, marketing, accounting and finance, and thus to train future managers, we aim to equip our students with theoretical and practical knowledge about the basic disciplines of business management and to ensure that they specialize in the basic areas of business science. Our business undergraduate program is carried out by faculty members who are experts in their fields, and we also benefit from experts and managers experienced in the business world. Another aim of the department is to give students lessons on entrepreneurship and to support people who will establish the businesses of the future. In this way, students who graduate from the business department are equipped to work in managerial positions in established businesses and leave our university with the necessary knowledge and experience if they want to establish their own businesses.

Students who graduate from the program have the opportunity to work in the private and public sectors. Students are educated in a way that they can find jobs in various departments such as production, marketing, accounting and senior management staff of national and international companies. In addition, with the Entrepreneurship courses given starting from the first year and the Entrepreneurship Report Card presented at the end of the education period, students are trained as entrepreneurs who can establish their own businesses. Our university also offers various support to successful students in establishing their businesses. 

Graduates who can find the opportunity to work in various departments and senior management positions of national and international companies also find a wide range of employment opportunities in the public sector, especially in relevant ministries and institutions. Some of the institutions and areas where graduates can work are as follows: They can be employed in various departments and senior management positions of national and international companies such as production, marketing, human resources, accounting and finance and public relations, as well as in expert positions in relevant public institutions. Graduates of the department also have the right to participate in all professional competition exams that graduates of the Faculties of Economics and Administrative Sciences can take. Students will also receive various trainings on entrepreneurship and will be able to receive support and awards such as start-up capital support for the design, product, service or project they design, job opportunities in OSTİM Teknopark, finding and connecting business partners, and internship opportunities abroad.

OSTİM Technical University, a higher education institution located at the heart of the business world, industry and public sector, is located in an important industrial center in our country and was established in strong cooperation with the business world, industry and society. OSTİM Technical University has developed the “Workplace Experience” application, where students will take part in businesses on a certain day of the week starting from the second semester of the first year and throughout the eighth semester, and where students will transfer the knowledge they receive from theoretical education to businesses and the knowledge they receive from businesses to theory.

The curriculum of the business department includes various courses in the fields of management, production, marketing, accounting, finance and human resources. In addition to courses that aim to develop analytical thinking such as Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting and Management Information Systems, students will also specialize in human-focused areas such as Strategic Management, Human Resources Management, Business Communication and Marketing Principles. In addition, courses such as Business Law, Production Management, International Business and E-Commerce are also included in the program. In addition, the curriculum offers advanced elective courses in various fields to allow students to focus on their chosen fields. Educational techniques such as case studies, simulations, workshops, conferences and teamwork are used in the courses with the help of new technologies.

With the “Workplace Experience” application developed within the scope of the applied education model with the slogan “Experienced Graduate”, you will be better prepared for your profession thanks to the field experience you will gain, and you will be able to use the general culture, theoretical knowledge, skills, attitudes and habits you have gained during the learning process in a real workplace environment in the first year of your university education. Thus, your chance of being preferred in the national and international business world will increase with the qualifications you will have.

The language of instruction in the department is 100% English. Students who cannot achieve foreign language proficiency are required to attend the preparatory program provided by the Foreign Languages ​Department of our University. Within the scope of the English Preparatory Program, the English levels of newly registered students are first determined with the Level Determination Exam. Students who score 60 and above in the Level Determination Exam are eligible to take the English Proficiency Exam. Students who score 60 and above in this exam are exempted from the English Preparatory Program. Students whose English level is not found sufficient to start their departments directly are admitted to the English Preparatory Program starting from the specified level.​

What are the double major and minor opportunities?

Within the framework of the Regulation on Transfer, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer between Associate and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions, double major and minor programs can be done at our university. Within this scope, students of the Department of Business Administration can do double major and minor programs in other departments of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and in other faculties by taking into consideration the relevant YKS score types and rankings by meeting the necessary conditions determined by the departments in which they want to do double major or minor at the beginning of the third and the latest fifth semester.
